Soldier On Program
Inspiring recovery and rehabilitation through the transformative power of sport
YOUR SUPPORT WILL HELP MILITARY MEMBERS TO ADAPT AND OVERCOME PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH ILLNESS OR INJURY.
The Soldier On Fund is the most direct way for Canadians to contribute to supporting the recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration of ill and injured members.
The Soldier On Program re-introduces members to an active lifestyle using a community-based delivery model and provides inspiration and motivation for women and men to overcome adversity through camaraderie, sports and other physically challenging activities.
It also provides members with a safe environment to challenge themselves in ways that they may not have thought possible. Members participating credit the program with helping them:
- Build confidence in their abilities
- Interact with peers dealing with similar challenges
- Gain a renewed sense of purpose and belonging
- Adapt to their “new normal”
- Realize their full potential
PROGRAM SUCCESS LEADS TO PROGRAM GROWTH.
With the success of the Soldier On Program recovering members are becoming the new role models for others still struggling, more members are opening up about their experience with an operational stress injury and sharing what life is like after injury. The participation in the program has increased by 105% over the last two years and outgrown the current funding model.
